Born in rural Wisconsin, Josh began acting at age five after a national talent search landed him a role in a commercial for Oscar Mayer hot dogs. He acted in school and community theatre all through his adolescence while also directing and acting in small independent films. After graduating high-school, Josh moved to Chicago and began working there professionally while attending acting classes at Columbia College Chicago. He quickly began to land leading roles at Chicago Theatres including The Goodman, Writers, Northlight, Steep, Griffin, Redtwist, and others. In 2014 Josh got his network TV debut as a Co-Star on Chicago Fire (Episode 212 'Out With a Bang").
